International School of Berlin visits Globe Business College

June 19th, 2012

On the 13th June, Globe College welcomed a group of grade 11 IB Diploma students and their Economics teacher from the International School of Berlin for their annual “Experience College for a Day” event. Despite an extremely early start from Berlin, the group was motivated and enthusiastic.

The day kicked off with an interactive session on marketing approaches from Dr. Walsh, where students were taught the fundamentals of brand, transaction and relationship marketing and then were asked to apply the theory in a group simulation. Following this, GBCM hosted lunch in the beautiful foyer of the Art Deco Palais.

In the afternoon, Mr Burns and his class visited Allianz Global Investors and were treated to refreshments and an informative presentation by the Head of Marketing and the Head of Global Human Resources in the impressive Global Training Room. During the question and answer round, the students asked their questions and learned about the asset management business, the marketing approach and gained an insight into the HR policy for work-life balance at a global leader like Allianz Global Investors.

Following the presentation the group hopped on the S1 back to the airport to catch their flight back to Berlin. A great day was had by all, and we look forward to our ongoing collaboration with all our international schools.
