The Foundation Programme is designed for students who want to spend some of their gap year gaining new skills in business and developing personally and professionally. It is also ideal for those who want to improve their English language skills while learning about business or for the budding entrepreneurs who want to start companies. It gives school leavers time to mature, gain valuable skills and build a great network before they take their final decisions about College or the next step in their career.

Students undertake an academic programme consisting of five subjects ranging from Business and the Business Environment, Innovation and Commercialisation, Financial Accounting, Management and Operations, Management Accounting, Human Resource Management, Business Project, and Marketing Essentials.

Each subject is taught in a series of interactive seminars led by experienced lecturers who are experts in their chosen academic field and who have extensive professional experience. In small classes, of maximum 15–20 students, students work on case studies, examine real company profiles, and learn how to apply academic theories to real-life business scenarios.

Alongside their academic studies, students also focus on personal and professional development by taking part in a range of activities and events such as Project Weeks, Guest Lectures, Mentoring, Industrial Visits and Networking Events.

Entry Requirements

  • Assessment interview or participation in a Golden Ticket Weekend or equivalent interactive workshop (please contact for more information)
  • Evidence of English language ability may be required

Students who successfully complete the programme are given official transcripts for the 5 courses they study. These courses are part of the Pearson Higher National Certificate programme, which is on the national qualifications framework in England.

The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is a BTEC Edexcel qualification that is accredited by Pearson. Pearson is the UK’s largest awarding body and is regulated by Ofqual (England), SQA Accreditation (Scotland), CCEA Accreditation (Northern Ireland) and Qualifications Wales (Wales). They offer academic and vocational qualifications that are globally recognised and benchmarked, with educational excellence rooted in names like Edexcel, BTEC, EDI and LCCI. Their vocational qualifications include Edexcel NVQ and BTEC from entry level to Higher National Diplomas. The HNC is not recognised in Germany, but can be used for Degree programmes in England and further afield. Please contact us for a list of Universities that recognise this programme.

The fee for the Foundation Business Programme (one semester) is 10,000 Euros. Semesters run from September to January, February to May, and June to July (depending on numbers). A one-off application fee of 450 Euros is also applicable.

A Commitment Fee of 2,000 EUR is payable upon acceptance to programme. This amount is deducted from the cost of the programme at the beginning of the term.

Student Testimonials

I got to know Mrs Gunning through her frequent visits to Globe Business College Munich as a guest lecturer. I was very impressed by her and what she does. Dr Walsh is always teaching her students about the importance of networking and encouraging them to take any opportunity that presents itself, and that is exactly what I did. During one of her guest lectures at Globe, Mrs Gunning and I got to talking about our common interests. That day she gave me her card and I did as Dr Walsh taught me to – I kept in touch. Thanks to the education and opportunities GBCM provided me with, as well as the business values they instilled in me, today I am the Chief Content Creator for Ellen Gunning’s PR Training Academy, an online PR education platform for professionals.

Kalina – Higher National Certificate (2 terms), September 2017 – May 2018

I really enjoyed my time at Globe Business College, making new friends from different countries. I instantly felt accepted and welcomed here at Globe. It is a warm family. The Foundation program was really interesting and it will certainly help my further development. I had a good experience with my group, the OG Neckbeardz, during Grit Week. Thank you for everything.
