Guest Lecture: Crown Prince Shwebomin of Burma

July 27th, 2012

We would like to thank Crown Prince Shwebomin who gave the students and friends of GBCM an interesting insight into operations management. Combing the influence of PEST factors in his analysis, Crown Prince Shwebomin skillfully highlighted the correlations between the management of the individual, the family, the community and nation states. The lecture concluded with a question and answer session with the participants. Following this the guests networked over refreshments and many interesting connections were created.

Crown Prince Shwebonmin at Globe Business College

Crown Prince Shwebomin is a professor at East London College, Leytonstone, England. He has earned a degree in mechanical engineering and a master in thermodynamics. He further earned master degrees in business administration at Cranfield University, and later a master in international relations at the University of Kent.

In 1982, he established the Royal Burma Society that gives assistance to Burmese people, refugees located in Thailand and a YMCA orphanage in Yangon.

The guest lecture is an important part of the academic calendar and offers our students the opportunity to experience how concepts and theories are applied in real business. This year the students and friends of the college have gained insights into Google GmbH and Merck Fink & Co Private Bankiers, also in the fast moving consumer goods sector through Bord Bia and social media marketing with Threeview.
