Customised Pre-University Education

The Bridging Programme (pre-university course) is designed for students who would like to attain a Bachelor degree but do not have the necessary entry requirements for traditional third-level and university programmes.

One or two terms are undertaken depending on school qualification or grades and the number of additional credits needed to meet degree entry requirements. Where one term is required, five subjects are undertaken. Where two semesters are necessary, eight subjects are completed, leading to the award of a Higher National Certificate (Pearson) qualification.

Academic Programme

  • Business and the Business Environment
  • Marketing Processes and Planning
  • Human Resource Management
  • Leadership and Management
  • Accounting Principles
  • Managing a Successful Business Project
  • Entrepreneurial Ventures
  • Business Law

Each of the above subjects is taught in a series of interactive courses led by experienced lecturers who are experts in their chosen academic field and who have extensive professional experience. In small classes, of a maximum of 15–20 participants, students work on case studies, meet real companies and learn how to apply academic theories to the practical world of business.

Character & Skill Development

As part of the programme, students work on the following five core skills:

  • Empathetic Exchange
  • Strategic Thinking
  • Time Management / Results Orientation
  • Grit, Passion, Investment
  • Communication

This skill development takes place in addition to the formal courses, through a number of experiential learning points that occur throughout the term. These experiences, which include leading a real team, network exchanges and community management, allow students to apply skills in a real-world business setting.

Individual character issues (such as procrastination, perfectionism, lack of self-confidence or focus) that may hamper skill development are worked on in weekly customised mentoring and coaching sessions.

Entry Requirements

  • The one-term programme can be used to top up grades achieved in the Abitur or IB (or similar qualifications), where the student does not meet the entry requirements to our degree (namely 30 points in the IB or equivalent).
  • Various 3-9-month programmes are available to top up school qualifications such as the IBCP and High School Diploma (length of time required depends on individual circumstances – please contact us for further information).
  • Evidence of English language ability may be required
  • An assessment interview or participation in a Golden Ticket Weekend workshop is mandatory

Accreditation & Progression

The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is on the national qualifications framework in England. After successful completion of one semester of the HNC (five modules), students can, where agreed, gain entry to the Bachelor (Hons) in Business degree offered at Globe Business College Munich, or choose to apply to join degree programmes in the UK. On successful completion of two semesters (eight modules), students are awarded a Higher National Certificate, which may also be used to gain entry to the Bachelor degree at Globe College or at universities around the world.

The Higher National Certificate is a BTEC qualification that is accredited by Pearson. Pearson is the UK’s largest awarding body and is regulated by Ofqual (England), SQA Accreditation (Scotland), CCEA Accreditation (Northern Ireland) and Qualifications Wales (Wales). Pearson offer academic and vocational qualifications that are globally recognised and benchmarked, with educational excellence rooted in names such as Edexcel, BTEC, EDI and LCCI. Their vocational qualifications include Edexcel NVQ and BTEC from entry level to Higher National Diplomas. The HNC is not recognised in Germany, but can be used for degree programmes in England and further afield. Please contact us for a lis‌t of universities that recognise this programme.
