Industrial Visit to Google European Headquarters, Dublin

November 17th, 2014

On Wednesday 13th November a group of GBCM students and faculty had the opportunity to visit the European Headquarters of Google in Dublin, Ireland.

Located in the heart of the historic docklands district (a.k.a. Silicon Docks), Google has helped put Dublin on the map as a technology hub in Europe. The Dublin office is made up of thousands of Googlers from all over the world, overseeing operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

We were given a guided tour of Google Docks by Mr Marco Novelli, Education Outreach Coordinator. Mr Novelli showed us a number of departments and innovative break out areas in the Google building. Throughout the tour students enjoyed a lively discussion and Q&A with our guide, who was highly impressed with the students’ critical thinking and participation.

We would like to thank Mr Novelli and Google for taking the time and giving our students an insight into life at Google.
