We were delighted to be joined by Debbie Deegan last week, who visited Globe College as part of our series of guest lectures.
Ms Deegan is the founder and Managing Director of the Dublin based charity ‘To Children with Love’ which she established in 1998 with the aim of transforming the lives of abandoned and disadvantaged children in Russia. During the lecture Ms Deegan talked to our students about what prompted her to set up ‘To Children with Love’ after she met a group of children directly affected by the Chernobyl disaster. Since then Ms Deegan has made over 400 trips to Russia, and received several awards and accolades as a result of her charity work, including the UNESCO Tolerance award in 2012 and the Image Businesswoman of the Year for Social Entrepreneurship in 2015.
We would like to thank Ms Deegan for her time, and for delivering a moving and truly inspiring guest lecture.
