The Foreign Affairs Association, with whom Globe College has a long-standing and fruitful working co-operation, celebrated its 70th anniversary in the grand hall of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University yesterday evening.
Globe College students and alumni accompanied the Dean, Dr Walsh, to the event, which was attended by 600 guests including many foreign dignitaries.
Dr Horst Mahr, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Association, gave the official welcome address. This was followed by speeches from Georg Eisenreich, MdL, Bayerischer Staatsminister für Digitales, Medien und Europa, and Niels Annen, MdB, Staatsminister im Auswärtigen Amt.
The highlight of the evening was the presence of Tánaiste Simon Coveney, who was invited to the event by Globe College. Mr Coveney spoke with Dr Walsh and the Globe College students, addressed the role of education and specifically Globe College in deepening Irish German relations, and thanked Globe College for inviting him to the event.
It was a great event and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Association.
