Navigator Summer Business School, 5–10th July 2015

July 14th, 2015

On Sunday 5th July we were joined by a group of international high school students for the Navigator Summer Business School. After enjoying a barbeque on Sunday evening the programme commenced in earnest on Monday. After some team-building activities the group was split into four teams, and assigned their project for the week. This consisted of a brief, and details of the company they would be working with. After some preliminary discussions the students then met with their company to gather information to assist with their projects. This year we were honoured to work with the Augustiner Keller, software start-up absence.io, online fashion retailer Sassyclassy, and Smokey Joe’s food outlet based at Munich airport.

The students spent the rest of the week working on their projects and taking part in interactive lectures and workshops on subjects ranging from finance to product development and innovation. We were also pleased to welcome Mr Thomas Stein, former juror on ProSieben’s ‘Popstars’, back to Globe College. Mr Stein provided the students with feedback and advised how they could improve their presentations.

The Summer School culminated on Friday 10th July with the team presentations. All were exceptional but team B, who worked with absence.io, came out on top and were awarded their prize by Dr Susan Walsh, Dean of Globe Business College Munich.

The Summer School was a great success and we look forward to welcoming the students back to Globe College in the future.
