Guest Lecture: Roberto Savio, “The Origins of the Chaos”

October 25th, 2016

On Monday 24th October, Globe Business College Munich and The Foreign Affairs Association were honoured to co-host an evening with distinguished UN-advisor, communications expert and global governance advocate Roberto Savio.

Dr Susan Walsh (Dean) and Dr Horst Mahr (Chairman, Gesellschaft für Aussenpolitik) welcomed esteemed Foreign Affairs Association guests alongside staff and students of Globe College to hear Mr Savio’s insightful lecture on “The Origins of the Chaos”, in which he explored the political, economic and social roots of the global fragmentation we are currently experiencing.

Attributing the current socio-political climate – characterised by institutional decline and the return of nationalism, populism and xenophobia – to a lack of global governance induced by previous generations, Mr Savio concluded his exposition of the reasons for this development with a plea to the next generation, urging our students to become ambassadors for change by acting as much in the global interest as their own when they embark on their careers.

We would like to thank Mr Savio for his succinct yet comprehensive lecture, and are grateful to Gräfin Clary and Dr Mahr for facilitating such a stimulating evening. We look forward to many more successful collaborations with the Foreign Affairs Association in future.
